1967 Riot: Faith Groups Wrestled with Change

An article appeared on the Detroit Free Press web site on July 21, 2017, remembering how faith groups dealt with the 1967 riot. Included with the article is a video in which Bishop Donald Hanchon of the Archdiocese of Detroit speaks about the statue of Jesus on the campus of Sacred Heart Major Seminary whose face, hands and feet were painted black on July 23, 1967, the first day of the riot.
