Sixth graders meet during the school year on select Mondays (please see schedule – Coming Soon), and spend the year focusing on the Old Testament. We strive to make the connection between the ancient stories of the Hebrew scriptures and the wisdom and guidance those stories offer us in our lives today. Strengthening the 6th grader’s knowledge and understanding of the Old Testament serves as an excellent stepping stone into the 7th and 8th grade programs which center on Christian living and Catholic beliefs.

Seventh graders meet during the school year on select Mondays (please see schedule – Coming Soon), and focus on what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus. They explore Scripture stories about who Jesus was and how he lived, while tackling the deeper question: How does he challenge us to live today? Students consider some unconventional images of Christ, look at how he treated those he encountered, and apply the Beatitudes to their daily reality. They also engage in an outreach activity that invites them to be the Body of Christ to the hungry and homeless among us, leading seamlessly into our eighth grade program which centers on living a Catholic Christian life.

Eighth graders meet during the school year on select Tuesdays (please see schedule – Coming Soon), and concentrate on what it means to be a Catholic Christian. They take a creative and interactive look at some of our faith traditions and practices – from Worship and Sacraments to Catholic Social Teachings and the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Students explore a multitude of ways to put their Catholic faith into action – to make important life decisions, and to make a positive impact on the world around them. This year paves the way for the journey to Confirmation in ninth grade.
